Saferparty.ch is the largest German-language drug information site on the Internet. During my time at the digital agency VIU, I was in charge of the redesign. The new design was developed in close collaboration with the client. This included a new information architecture and a new visual design. Another part of this was a branding refresh for which I was also responsible. The new website was rewarded with the «Best of Swiss Web Award: Silver» in the category «Public Value».

Over the years, the website was continuously expanded, for example with an application where users can view their test results online.

Refreshing a brand in an emotionally charged field

In contrast to the emotionally loaded or trippy imagery common on related sites to that topic, this design prioritizes a calm, restrained visual language.

The brand identity was deliberately reduced to a single brand color (magenta) used in different variations.

Each drug category is represented by an abstract, colored image set subtly in the background with a blur effect. This approach keeps the visual language understated and discreet, in stark contrast to many similar sites that rely on emotionally charged imagery or overly psychedelic illustrations. The goal was to maintain a calm, informative tone that respects the seriousness of the subject matter while remaining visually distinctive.

The logo functions as a mask, adopting the color of each category's background image. This adds a dynamic layer to the brand identity that adapts contextually while maintaining consistency.
